every year the first day it snows is like a punch in the face that takes four months to heal. unfortunately for everyone involved that punch came early this year.
evidently a LOT of trees were also punched and they were NOT happy. the fallen trees caused so much damage to power lines that it caused wide-spread outages effecting 70,000+ homes and businesses in eastern pennsylvania. son of a bitch.
as you know, power outages are my worst nightmare. i BARELY survived a three hour outage in 2009, so it's pretty safe to say i went berserk over the three DAYS it took to have our electricity restored.

the worst part of this whole ordeal wasn't that i could see my breath inside, or that apple (my macbook) has less than 40 minutes of battery capacity, or even that i was ready to sell my soul for a fully charged blackberry battery, but the moment i realized i had to throw out my precious pumpkin spice cream cheese because the fridge was warmer than the house. i loved you pumpkin spice cream cheese. gone too soon...

My personal favorite part of this was how much I enjoyed the candlelight. I liked it so much that when the power came back on I was like "Oh honey . . . I'm gonna miss sitting in the dark with just the candles." To which Alicia remarked, "you know honey, we can just turn the lights off whenever we want."
Sometimes I'm not as smart as everyone makes me out to be . . .
Because we don't get much snow here, when I see it in pictures I always think "how pretty" - I guess I have no idea what a pain in the arse it can be. On the upside, the candles are very pretty:)
I don't do well when the lights go out either. I think the last time we had one I actually screamed liked a little girl from my husband lol...it was not my proudest moment.
yea i am totally with trees, it looks pretty but i am sure it is reeally shitty and i don't wish anyone to live in the snow and cold. the rain makes me very angry because it pretty much the same thing but just not cold...like today it was nice enough to literally DOWNPOUR as i got off work and had to ride home and to the train in the DOWNPOUR! i was a sad little angry wet rat when i got home... together in this we are rage soul sisters...i feel your anger and i share it but no one should suffer no electricity and cold...im sorry my sweet pea.
well if you moved to cali you would at least suffer only the rain.

seriously electricity dont ever leave me. listening to radio all night and huddling by a fire sucked balls. big frozen balls.
I just bought that pumpkin spice cream cheese too lol! It's so awesome. I can't resist the pumpkins!
